Works, 1969-2017 is a unique exhibition of Eugenio Dittborn’s career over the last fifty years. The works brought together here—from the aeropostal paintings to the last drawings made by Dittborn before he “stopped working with his hands”—effectively capture the attitude of an artist who distrusts final words and all fixed states of affairs (including that of his own work). Little by little, through a series of small discoveries, this constellation of images and visual practices brings to light what Ana María Risco calls an authentic pictorial poetics. A poetics in which things that seem completely indeterminate are, in reality, the result of calculation, just as things that seem completely calculated lead us incessantly to the indeterminate
