Cristián Abelli is a visual artist born in Santiago de Chile in 1958. He began painting at the age of fifteen and between 1975 and 1979 he studied drawing and painting with Reinaldo Villaseñor and Miguel Venegas Cifuentes and engraving with Osvaldo Thiers. He has exhibited at the Galería Plástica Nueva, at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, at the Hara Museum, Tokyo and at the D.Pierides' Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens. He has also received important awards, such as the Premio Academia de Bellas Artes, the Marcos Bontá Award and the Universidad Finis Terrae's Creation Award.
