Francisco Smythe
Francisco Smythe was a Chilean painter and visual artist born in Puerto Montt in 1952. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Chile, where he held the position of Professor of Painting and Drawing from 1974 to 1981. In 1978, after obtaining two scholarships to pursue his studies in Italy, he settled in Florence, where he linked himself with the Italian Transavantgarde.
