750/5,000  Characters Translate Carlota Eugenia Rosenfeld Villarreal, better known as Lotty Rosenfeld, was a Chilean artist born in Santiago in 1943. She entered the School of Applied Arts at the University of Chile in 1963, where she was a student of artists such as Florencia de Amesti, Eduardo Vilches and Kurt Herdan. Her work developed in the technique of printworks until the late 1970s, when the political circumstances of the military dictatorship led her to rethink her social role as an artist, linking her practice to the public space and developing a work linked to interventions, art actions and performance. She was a member of the Art Actions Collective (CADA), along with Raúl Zurita, Diamela Eltit, Fernando Balcells and Juan Castillo.
