Elías Adasme

Illapel, 1955

Elias Adasme is an artist, printmaker and photographer born in Illapel in 1955. He studied Bachelor of Arts with a major in printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Chile between 1974 and 1979 and later took advanced courses in graphic techniques, as part of the Visual Arts Workshop in Santiago. His work uses diverse supports and means of expression, including installation, performance, digital graphics, visual poetry and mail art. He has lived in Puerto Rico since 1983, where he has worked as a professor at the Liga de Arte de San Juan and as an artist at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico.
