Josefina Guilisasti
Josefina Guilisasti is a visual artist born in Santiago in 1965. She studied Bachelor of Arts at the University of Chile, where she was a student of Rodolfo Opazo and Gonzalo Díaz, studied scenographic painting at La Scala di Milano and later was a student of Eugenio Dittborn. Her work explores the intersection between art, heritage and material culture, interested in historical rescue, as well as traditional knowledge and know-how. She has participated in several individual and collective exhibitions during his career - among them the Correspondences exhibition at the Haus am Kleistpark in Berlin (2002), the IV Biennale at the National Museum of Fine Arts (2004), the Fragment I exhibit at the Biennial in Pontevedra (2006) and the Mercosur Biennium in Porto Alegre (2001 and 2007) - and in 2008 she received the Altazor Prize of the National Arts in the category Painting by Bodegones.
