Juan Pablo Langlois

Santiago, 1936

Juan Pablo Langlois Vicuña was a Chilean visual artist born in Santiago in 1936. Considered by many as one of the most important exponents of national contemporary art, Langlois promoted the development of a "local conceptualism" through perishable sculptures and installations supported by strange materials such as paper, wire and plastic. His work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, including: "Cuerpos blandos" (MNBA, 1969); "Escultura presente" (CAL Gallery, 1977); "Miss" (MNBA, 1997); "Papeles Ordinarios" (Factoría ARCIS, 2005); "Retrospectiva Juan Pablo Langlois 1969 - 2012" (Centro Cultural Matucana 100, 2012) and "Afterwards no one will remember" (Cindy Rucker Gallery, 2018).
