Jorge Tacla is a visual artist born in Santiago in 1958 and currently based in New York. He studied at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Chile, where he was a student of Rodolfo Opazo and Gonzalo Díaz. His artistic production, based on a personal plastic language, has been exhibited internationally in museums, biennials and galleries such as Sala Alcalá 31, Cristin Tierney Gallery, New York City Center and Art Museum of the Americas, in addition to the 55th Venice Biennale. He has received several awards throughout his career, including a Guggenheim Memorial Foundation scholarship, a New York Foundation for the Arts Award, and the Circle of Art Critics Award.
