Carlos Leppe was a Chilean artist born in 1952. He completed his artistic training at the University of Chile, graduating with a degree in painting, although most of his work (and the best known) dabbles in video-action, performance and body art. He was a key member of the so-called "Escena de Avanzada", interacting with artists such as Carlos Altamirano, Eugenio Dittborn and the French-Chilean theorist Nelly Richard. In addition, Leppe developed a renowned professional career in the advertising area as art director, image consultant and creative consultant for several national, Spanish and Italian companies.
