Eduardo Vilches is a graphic artist and photographer born in Concepción in 1932. He began his artistic career as a student of Gregorio de la Fuente and at the Taller 99 directed by Nemesio Antúnez, then obtained his Bachelor of Arts with mention in photogravure at the Catholic University and continued his specialization studies in gravure and color at the University of Yale. During the 60s and 70s he participated in important exhibitions of art and printworks inside and outside the country, highlighting the II Biennial of Engraving in Krakow and the different versions of the American biennials of engravings held in Santiago. It has been recognized on several occasions the Altazor Prize (2008, 2011 and 2012) the year 2019 received the National Prize of Art.
