Alexander Apóstol is a Venezuelan visual artist born in Basquimento in 1969. His work uses photography and video to explore Latin American political history through the lens of urban planning and architecture, as well as Latin American prejudices about masculinity and homosexuality. He has participated in several international exhibitions, including the 54th Venice Biennale (2011) and the 12th Shanghai Biennale (2018), and is part of important public and private collections, such as the Tate Modern in London, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Pompidou Center in Paris.
