Python Morphe
19:00 hours
On Wednesday, 27 April, at 7:00 p.m., we welcomed Josefina Guilisasti, Hilda Díaz, and Paula Subercaseaux to Il Posto Documentos, who spoke with us about the exhibition of their project ‘Python Morphe’ at the Patricia Ready Gallery.
The Python Morphe project arose from Guilisasti’s interest in producing a collective exhibition that would pay tribute to phytomorphic pieces belonging to the collection of the Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art in Santiago. To this end, he invited three craftswomen from Rari (Maule Region): Inés Villalobos, Ruth Méndez and Díaz herself, who has been recognised by UNESCO as a Living Human Treasure.
The conversation at our Research Centre was moderated by researcher Paz López and addressed topics related to traditional culture, community work and the links between craftsmanship and contemporary art.
