Yeguas del Apocalipsis
The chilean collective formed in 1987 by Pedro Lemebel (1952 - 2015) and Francisco Casas Silva (1959), undertook a series of artistic interventions with a political stance to confront gender discrimination and dictatorship.
Their protest was directed against dictatorship and against the democracy that was agreed after the 1989 plebiscite.
They mainly used their body as art platform for political support, nude and homosexual. The duo's work was carried out through performance, cross-dressing, photography, video and installation.
