Marcela Rivera

Marcela Rivera Hutinel holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the Catholic University of Chile and a Ph.D. in Philosophy with a specialization in Aesthetics and Art Theory from the University of Chile. She is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Philosophy at UMCE. Her teaching, writing, and research seek to explore aesthetic, political, and subjective phenomena through exercises in thought rooted in the body, writing, and imagination. She has published her translation of *Entretiens sur toutes choses*, a collection of essays by Charles de Saint-Évremond (Prometeo, 2013); a collective volume edited with Pablo Oyarzun: *Skepticism, Literature, and Visuality* (ed. Ventana Abierta/U. de Chile, 2016); Thinking Through Images: Montaigne and the Fall (Editorial Cuadro de Tiza, 2020); and What the Hand Gives (Mundana Ediciones, 2022). Anomalous Figures of Reading was published this year by Ediciones Macul, after winning the 2023 Book and Reading Fund grant.
