Antonio Pichillá is a Guatamaltecan artist born in 1982 in San Pedro La Laguna, Sololá. He is a graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, Rafael Rodríguez Padilla (1999-2003) and a member of the group TEI-CA Atellier, a research studio in science and art directed by Roberto Cabrera (2001-2014). His work has been characterized by relating the forms of modern art (and particularly what in the West has been called "abstraction") with the ancestral traditions of the Maya Tz'utujil people.
