Edgar Calel
Edgar Calel is a Maya-Kaqchikel visual artist and poet born in 1987 in Chi Xot, San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala. He studied at the Rafael Rodríguez Padilla National School of Plastic Arts in Guatemala City and has completed several residencies throughout Latin America. His work is deeply influenced by his indigenous heritage, integrating traditional ceremonies, cosmology, and collective memory into installations, performances, and collective actions.
