Doris Salcedo
Doris Salcedo is a Colombian artist and sculptor born in Bogotá in 1958. She studied Fine Arts at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá and obtained a Master of Arts degree from New York University in 1984. Recognized as one of the most prominent artists of her generation, she has exhibited at the Tate Modern in London, the White Cube Gallery, and the Guggenheim, among others, as well as at prominent international biennials such as the XXIV São Paulo Biennial, the Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art, and Documenta 11 in Kassel. She has received numerous awards, including a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship, the Velázquez Prize for the Arts, and the Hiroshima Art Prize.
