Yeguas del Apocalipsis
Las Yeguas del Apocalipsis was an artistic collective formed in 1987 by Chilean writers and artists Pedro Lemebel (Santiago, 1952) and Francisco Casas Silva (Santiago, 1959). Their interventions are known for taking the body as a platform to explore the relationship between art, politics and sexuality, generally locating on the margins of the institutional art circuit. After their last intervention in the 6th Havana Biennial (1997), las Yeguas' work has been exhibited in various international shows, among which stand out: "Arte≠Vida. Actions by Artists of the Americas, 1960-2000" (El Museo del Barrio, 2008); "Crisis: América Latina, arte y confrontación 1910-2010" (2011, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City) and "Perder la Forma Humana: Una imagen sísmica de los años ochenta en América Latina" (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, 2012).
