Juan Dávila is a visual artist born in 1946 in Santiago, Chile and currently based in Melbourne, Australia. His paintings, often controversial and sexually irreverent, are part of important collections around the world -including those of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Tate- and have been exhibited in numerous international competitions and solo and group exhibitions, most notably the Biennale of Sydney (1982, 1984 and 2024), Documenta (2007) and his retrospective exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney (2005) and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (2018).
