During 2014 and 2015, the “Bellos Jueves” program, curated by Santiago Villanueva, took place at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This initiative sought to redefine and enhance the museum’s heritage through unconventional artistic gatherings that interwove the visual arts with music and performance art. Thus, on the last Thursday of every month, the museum became a meeting place for artists, musicians, and poets, with the aim of reexamining the institution’s collection. In Villanueva’s words, “Bellos Jueves became a gathering space that set aside the presence of individual, isolated works and called for a collective intervention on an existing heritage.”
