On the back cover, Miguel A. López mentions the following in this matter:
Artist Patrick Hamilton has been using geometric abstraction to develop a sharp investigation into Chile’s history, politics, and economy over the last few decades. His work has been dedicated to reflecting on the formation and modes of operation of neoliberalism. In the words of theorist Nelly Richard, Hamilton ‘puts an archaeological memory to work,’ which consists of collecting images and materials to understand the clash of forces that defines the present. In this new project, the artist addresses the history of mining extractivism that has sustained Chile’s economy, highlighting the role of copper, whose nationalisation in July 1971 by the government of Salvador Allende unleashed the fury of the US government.
